What Did They Know Before Baptism?

What does one need to know before they are legitimately baptized according to scripture? This is a fundamental yet debated issue. It is important that we look to the whole of scripture for this answer. What one needs to know before they are scripturally baptized is made evident by a look at what was preached in Acts.
